Fleet, by The Loopen Experiment

January - August, 2007

Created with the structure of a myth in mind, 'Fleet' was a Hero's journey through different recesses of his mind. Everything was created physically and with soundscaping. This piece premiered at BATs Theatre in Wellington, toured the South Island and then featured at a festival in Peru before having a season in Ecuador.

Another that must come back is the Christchurch-based Loopen Experiment's production, 'Fleet', one of the most innovative shows seen in Wellington for a long time.

Exquisitely costumed and choreographed, this production embodies every aspect of performance as well as an amazing array of vocalised sound effects by the cast, who us a minimum of props most ingeniously...

Through voice and physical movement, they create an amazing array of people and animals as well as physical barriers such as mountains and canyons that the lad has to get through. The synergy and cohesivenes of the performers, and their professionalism make for a most memorable show.
